The Winter Season is upon us, and as usual for this time of year we are experiencing an increase in
rentals together with the many Wing fundraising events that we have planned. (Check the EVENTS CALENDAR
in this issue)
Membership participation in our two recent Bingo events and the Armistice Dinner was disappointing when you
consider that the funds raised are vital for us to pay our operating costs that soar during the fall and
winter months. Cold winter weather means high heating and snow clearing expenses that are very real and
must be faced and met!
We count on membership support in order to cope with the day-to-day operating costs of our Wing. Therefore,
it is very important that there is strong member turnout to all our social functions...and please feel free
to bring your friends. Only in this way can the Wing remain financially sound.
Up to now, 2nd Vice-President Norm MacFie has been fulfilling the post of Acting Treasurer. He now finds that
due to health and personal reasons he is unable to continue. Thanks Norm for the exceptional and professional
job you have done for us in this position over the past year and a half. Consequently, we are seeking a
volunteer to fill this important post on the Wing Executive Council.
On a more positive note...Congratulations are extended to our WING-SPAN Editor, Sid Butler, on again winning
a National Wing Bulletin Award for publishing such an excellent newsletter. It serves as a vital link in
keeping the membership up to date on Wing affairs.
Just a reminder that the Wing General Meeting & Social is scheduled for Saturday, January 26,
2008, at 2 p.m. Please make a special effort to attend.
Both Carol and I hope to see you at our New Years Eve Gala. If not, we would like at this time to wish you
all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy-Happy New Year!
Remember...the future of our Wing is in your hands.
