I have just returned from visiting the Wing having seen the wonderful effort several Wing members have
made in decorating the Lancaster Lounge. Without question - a first class job has been done! You can't help
but feel more cheerful when you see it!!

|
The Christmas decorating was completed over a two day period by Master Decorators Sherwood Nugent and
Rosalind Scaplen with assistance from Peggy Hatfield; Bill Nugent and Clayton Collins, and,
as often is the case, with Wing Steward Jean Collins doing more than her share. You can't help
but feel more cheerful when you see it! To each of you - our thanks!!

Wing activities during the Fall had a shaky start, but with the many shoulders that got behind our
events, we were successful in meeting most of our plans and commitments and had fun doing it. However,
as most of you know, we did have some financial setbacks with respect to equipment costs. The expensive
winter months are ahead, and with the added costs of snow clearing, higher heating costs etc – it is always
a worry. In addressing these expenses, we are planning a couple of events that are being planned by the
Ways, Means and Entertainment Committee.

This time of year is a period of renewal, a time for our families and a time for celebrating. I would be
remiss if I didn't take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support – and wish you all the
very best during the Christmas season – and best wishes for the New Year.
