June 2006
|
|
Your Wing Executive Council’s term of office for 2005-06 has come to a
close after a very busy year under the leadership of President Bill
Moores and his energetic Executive Council members. Your time and
effort over the past year is appreciated - job well done by all!
|
|
The new Executive Council will assume office on June 19, 2006, when
they will be sworn in at the A.G.M. While I am unable to attend since
Carol and I are in the Ottawa area becoming grandparents for the
second time, I do look forward to taking office as your President at
our next Wing Executive Council meeting.
|
|
The year ahead will be a busy one with important items such as trying
to increase membership, making more Wing improvements and continuing
our commitment to the Air Cadets. We also need to continue, and if
possible, increase our fundraising efforts to help keep our Wing
viable. As it stands now, we are just barely keeping our head above
water. If things don’t improve it may put the operation of our Wing
in jeopardy, so let’s make a concerted effort to support our
Wing - the place where we enjoy ourselves so much. The Executive
Council welcomes all suggestions or advice which you may wish to offer.
|
|
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all the
volunteers who have so freely given of their time in the past and hope
that they will continue to do so in the future. As our membership is
getting older, we find it more challenging to get new volunteers to
help on our various fundraising efforts. It becomes more difficult
and unfair to call on the same individuals continuously. So please
give some thought into helping out on our fundraisers throughout the
coming year, or if this is not possible, consider making a donation of
any kind to help the Wing.

|
Our TGIF nights are due to begin in September, with great meals at a
bargain price. We are seeking cooking enthusiasts to assist our
chefs, Ron and Bill, who have been providing exceptional culinary
creations over the past number of years.
|
|
Remember, the future of our Wing is in your hands.
