June 2007
Where does the time go? We blinked a few times and here we are at the end of another successful Wing year.
Successful, due to the dedication of the members of the Wing Executive Council; the many volunteers and
the membership at large, all of whom contributed their time, energy and support to make our Wing an
enjoyable place to visit and belong.
The Wing Nomination Committee, with Past President Bill Moores as Chair, Ron Scaplen and Nelson Sherren
will be looking for nominees for election to the 2007/08 Executive Council. The WEC consists of 15 members
and we always welcome new members and new ideas.
The future of any organization depends on the support of its membership...our Wing is no different! We
currently have 119 members, a slight increase over this time last year, and this trend is encouraging.
Looking back over the past year we were proud to award the Wing Memorial Scholarship to Colette
Parrott, granddaughter of Bill and Colleen Parrott. The Mixed Dart League has continued its popularity and
we held a very enjoyable New Year's Eve Gala. Our fundraising events have been well attended, two
successful Bingos and a terrific St. Paddy's Night Dinner/Concert and Dance. The success of this event
allowed us to realize a substantial net profit that was shared between The Kid's Help Phone and 515 Air
Cadet Squadron.
Two more major events coming up include The 56th Anniversary BBQ-Member Initiation/Awards Night on
April 21st and the now famous "Flipper/Prime Rib Fest on April 23rd." Be sure to pick up your
tickets early...we expect the usual "full house!"
I would like to thank all the members who so willingly donated their time and effort towards the many
functions during the year and for adding their special touches that added so much to the quality of
the events. We could not have done it without you!

"WHAT A DIFFENCE A YEAR MAKES"
Remember...the future of our Wing is in your hands.
