As the Wing Executive Council's Term of Office for 2007-2008 comes to a close, I am pleased to
report that we had a successful year.
|
|
The Executive Council has continued with an aggressive fund raising agenda with the help
and support from the members who attended our fundraisers and other events.
|
|
The Turkey and Ham Bingos at Christmas and Easter time have been good revenue producers and we also
had great success with the Flipper / Prime Rib Dinners which are held in the spring and fall
each year.
|
|
Again, our yearly Paddy's Night Concert / Dance gave us the opportunity to bring in local
entertainers to perform in aid of The Kids Help Phone and to also help in meeting our commitment
to 515 North Atlantic Air Cadet Squadron.
|
|
The TGIF Dinners have been very successful with the numbers in attendance growing at a steady
pace - where else could you get such a delicious meal at such a great price?
|
|
The Friday Night Mixed Dart League continues to be a great source of enjoyment for all those
members who participate in this activity. Membership remains steady in the 125 -130 range. I
encourage you to seek out new members to ensure that the Wing has a viable future.
|
|
We welcome the Delegates to The Atlantic Group Annual Convention being held at the Wing on
May 9,10 and 11. Combined with Mother's Day Dinner celebrations on that weekend, your attendance
will ensure the success of these events.
|
|
On a more personal note, as my second term in office comes to an end, I would like to sincerely
thank the Members of the Executive Council, all our Volunteers, Wing Steward Jeannie and
Clayton Collins, and all Wing Members for their support over the past two years, thus making my
time as President a pleasing and memorable experience.
|
|
In closing, I wish the incoming Wing Executive Council every success in the future operation
and viability of the Wing.
|
|
Remember...the future of our Wing is in your hands.
